Ancient
India was divided into 16 large state units. Each such unit
was
known as Mahajanpad. Ang was one of them. In ancient period
the
language of Ang was known as Aangi. This Aangi is now known
as
Angika.
Angika is also spoken in Combodia,Vietnam,Malasiya & Nepal.
During
ancient period Angika spoken persons from Ang went to ombodia,
Vietnam and other south eastern countries to estabish new colonies
there. They ruled on these colonial countries for more than
1000 years.
They built magnificent temples like Angkor wat and wrote no.
of books
and shilalekhs in angika language.
In India Angika is the first language /dialect of Hindi upbhransh
in which
any literature was written. Sarah the famous poet had written
the first
poetry in Angika. Hence his poetry in Angika was first written
poetry of
Hindi language also. |
